OF LIONS AND LAMBS
A
hyper-intense, super-intelligent, ultra-cynical and always misunderstood
burnt-out female Greek-Canadian
stand up comic (Atti ‘the Hun’ Nicholoulias) is befriended by a naïve,
annoying optimistic Bible Thumper from Iowa (John ‘Johnboy’ Smith) who,
through as series of spiritual ‘accidents’ thinks that Atti is his Spirit
Helper sent from the Heavenly Planets and that his calling is to be a stand-up
comic.
Through hard
work and comedic struggle, Atti shows John how to get the ‘edge’ he needs to
make it as a comic in the REAL world, while still keeping his Spiritual
convictions and inner goodness. In return, ‘Johnboy’ winds up helping
Black-Sheep-of-the-family Atti deal with her guilt throwing mother after the
death of Atti’s firy Revolutionary/humanitarian father, the only man who
really understood who she is inside (and outside), and what her job on Planet
Earth REALLY is, a secret he takes with him to the grave which Atti finds out
about all too late.
Throughout the
story, Atti is haunted by an ever-present surreal
interrogator inside her head who is either her most feared demon, or most
dedicated healer, or perhaps both.
